Really why use the wooden sword once you got the magical sword?  idk

Let it be known

I need a messenger bag. This may or may not make a gift that might be seasonally appropriate in approximately 27 days. My current bag is getting holes and ripping. The bag must be laptop friendly, and aesthetically pleasing.

10-10-10

I have to do something to mark this momentous of days. The least I can do is blog. A blogger timestamp will have to work if all else fails.

School is only three days next week. Thats my big news. Life as a school teacher is actually pretty boring. I have a lot of side projects and those give me the most satisfaction and entertainment. Japanese is one of them. Something else I picked up would be learning SQL! I have a night community ed class. It been super simple so far, but I hope I can get my money's worth out of it. I'm using all of that code stuff to make a recipe app on the web. I've been learning lots so far, and this app is gonna be rockin' once I'm done with it. I think it'll be very useful for others in the family too. I'll be updating more about it the more I work on it. (Add recipes, search through them ((very very searchable)) and give you nice information as well as pictures and nice formatting)

Karen:
I dont know if texting or calling is the best way to contact you or what, but I know you read this, so reply in a comment and I'll see it that way too. We need to make plans for next weekend - either friday or Saturday. I'm bringing my cooking thing that lets you make the spaztle-ish noodles and I can make dinner for you guys once if you want. Swimming should also make the agenda, and I dont know what else. I might have a tag-along cause I dont have my own car, and am kinda carpooling. . . that ok?

Food:
Last night I learned how to make and made Chicken Parmesan. It was a success! If anybody has cooked with fancy olives (greek and purplish in color) tell me about them! I'd like to know more.

this post has no title

hmmm, I guess I have things to report. For the TWO followers I have now :D you thought you read this blog by yourself didn't you? well it isn't true there is another person reading it besides you. ha.

I test drove a Mini, I was drooling ALL over the place. The normal one and the S. The S made me salivate more. Went to a VW lot and looked at their smaller cars, planning something around christmas. . . we'll see.

Birthday weekend was ho-hum, thank you for the texts and voicemails, I went on a shopping spree on saturday. Visited Ikea and got lots of nice kitchen stuff I've been wanting for a while. Then replenished some teacher clothes that have been getting worn out. I've noticed a lot of t-shirts have been getting holes in them, but I haven't been buying very many shits to replace them. Crisis averted!

I've made two casseroles now :) I feel so domestic. I dont remember if this was on the last post, but I've made a breakfasty one (eggs, potatoes and sasage and cheddar), and I just barely made one for my lunches (cream soups, chicken, broccoli veg mix, bisquick top) I'm looking forward to eating it all week.

Metroid Other M comes out tomorrow, I'm SO skipping swim practice for this, but I decided to be a grown-up and not skip work too. This has been difficult to wait for, and I'm glad its so close. (I'll probably not have to post for another week, you'll know what I'm up to ;)

Lastly- my website is getting pretty bad-A. What is family for but to show off right? I own two domain names now :) my own slice of the interwebz. techwebb.org and techwebb.com Its all php based, very easy to add pages and content, totally liquid three column layout thats flawless, and I just put in a section for varrying the CSS on the pages which required some maintenance on each page but it looks pretty (using some CSS-3 in the bubble theme, rounded corners are gonna be so hot, and shadow text! oh my) you can't look at the Gateway class cause its copyrighted, and tech2 doesn't exist anymore, but everything else works well! you should check it out and poke around. It doesn't use any databases or anything, but I'm learning mySQL this semester and might make it into the website in the future. Pretty exciting stuff. Brian mentioned the games in one of his emails, they are on the about me page, if you win at them you get a prize.

and in anticipation for the Tron movie in December:
--end of line--

>_< Nanioshteimaska!!

As the end of August approaches . . . so does the end of my valid drivers license. So far- Government-3, Ben-0. Three trips with nothing or little to show. Just in case any of you have to romp in Bush's Homeland Security goodness bring: birth certificate, passport, marriage license, old license, W2's, tax records for the previous 3 years (in state only), college transcripts, 4 pieces of mail (postmarked within 6 days)(cellphone related mail doesn't count), and twenty bucks. Silly me that I forgot a few of those items on my three trips, and having the list piecemeal fed to me. Hopefully Monday . . . . it hasn't been the greatest Friday the 13th.

I did see Inception! I'd love to discuss it with someone, I think its "one of those movies." If you haven't seen it- I'll add my recommendation to Karen's. If you have- call me sometime before school starts.

Bought a new board game, called Smallworld, its like a combination of Pirates Cove and Risk (if you've played both those), that brings me up to 4-5 games now, yipee. Its a very fun game, visually and play.

At the beginning of this week I had to start thinking about work again. sigh. (now into actual blog post) The guy over junior high CTE (techy or engineery) classes is missing a few parts, it was actually during these two days when I actually put my finger on it. He looks (and speaks, and mannerisms, etc) like Barney from the Andy Griffith Show. He has a lot of departments grumpy about CTE as a whole now. Anyway, we held a refresher course for one of the classes we teach. Out of the two days about 90 minutes was actually useful, all coming from the same teacher, I wish he presented more. I had to teach the portion about the programming language that the mechanics use (like legos, but called fischer-technik). Some of these older teachers are worse learners than most of my students. I talked about the programming that went into a simple 8 button blender and you would have thought that I blew they minds with high-end astrophysics. Why are so many people's brains turned off all the time? If you have a real advice or real consoling, I would love to hear, I need to cope.

This week in cooking:
taco soup,
pork chops in pfeffer sauce with yummy potatoes
Hungarian beef sauce over Spatzle (home made)
Vienna Snitzel with lemon

all were very tasty, I think I might have to start uploading them to the family cooking blog, I've been trying really hard to remember to take pictures of all the meals, have only remembered once.

Life according to 2 Naught 10

I just ate home made Vienna snitzel mit pommes (garlic pommes). It was very yummy.

As I am in a food comma, I ought to tell the few readers I have left that this is a family blog. Won't be doing many film reviews (my system is still superior), just talking about the boring stuff that makes up my life. A big part of why I haven't been updating is that there is very little excitement going on in life. There is dating, teaching, learning, video games, swimming, and day-to-day living that wouldn't be all that interesting to the casual reader.

I'm not catching up, but I'll do a little review. I took the Praxis test today, so I can be a level 2 certified teacher- in Utah. Which is wonderful because I wont be staying in Utah. Still looking at WA to move to, might do it next summer if things go well, I'll start back at the bottom of the pecking order anywhere else, but that'll still be better than being here in Utah.

I other news, I'm learning how to cook lots, made fantasic chili two days ago. Snitzel and Fries today, turned out great. I made pfeffer sauce on pork a month or two ago, a couple different kinds of steaks. I've tried cooking with shallots and reductions, and wines. All very fun, the food tastes fantastic and its feels fancy (who knew all that stuff was so cheap). The salsa remains a staple.

I'm learning Japanese, have the Hiragana down, I would like to pick up Rosetta stone (non-pirated) and do more of it.

Swimming is more off-and-on than I would like it to be. I love everything water, and the club practices are amazing, but I miss too many of them. I can't seem to move up beyond lane 4 or 5. So many parts of my body seem to feel the need to catch up, lungs being right up there. I think I need to get testes for asthma, I might have a light version of it. The most recent practice we swam 2200 yards in the hour-ish time. Pretty good considering that at least 800 of that was stroke work and not freestyle.

Lastly a note about RSS. if you look up at the top of the browser where it says ~~blogspot.com/~~~~ at one side you will see a little radio icon. That means this blog is being broadcast to the internet. If you click on it and subscribe to the RSS or Atom then a little program will get some code and instead of checking my blog for updates, you will be TOLD when its updates and can read it right then. Its handy. Google homepage has an excellent RSS reader, I suggest you subscribe to it, in the name of laziness and becoming tech savy (mom that means you).

I will read your comments and reply. Sayoonara.
